Sales · Mid-level
Sales is the one function where the resume screen is almost purely numeric. A hiring manager reads for quota attainment, deal size, and sales cycle within seconds — and a resume without those numbers implies you did not hit your targets, whether or not that is true.
The example below states attainment as a percentage against quota for multiple periods, gives territory and segment context, and names the CRM and methodology, which together answer nearly every question a sales manager has at the screening stage.
Sales Representative with 5 years in B2B SaaS closing mid-market accounts ($25K–$120K ACV). Achieved 118%, 134%, and 107% of quota across the last three years, growing territory revenue from $1.4M to $2.6M while maintaining a 62-day average sales cycle.
A single good year reads as luck; three consecutive figures read as reliability. Give the percentage and the quota it was measured against — "118% of $2.2M" is far stronger than "exceeded quota".
Average deal size, segment (SMB, mid-market, enterprise), and sales cycle tell a manager whether your experience transfers to their motion. A rep closing $5K SMB deals and one closing $500K enterprise deals are not interchangeable.
Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN — all are exact ATS matches and signal you can operate in a structured sales org rather than freelancing your process.
Report the number honestly and add one clause of context ("during a mid-year territory realignment"). Managers respect candor and will discover the truth in a reference check; an unexplained gap reads worse than an explained miss.
Yes — put them in the summary or a short awards line. Relative ranking ("top 3 of 24 reps") is one of the few credentials that survives differences in quota-setting between companies.
Lead with the closing-adjacent evidence: meetings-to-opportunity conversion, sourced pipeline dollars, and any deals you closed or co-closed. Then mirror the AE posting's methodology keywords in your skills section.
