Marketing Manager resume example

Marketing manager resumes live or die on attribution. Anyone can claim a campaign "performed well"; shortlisted candidates state the spend they controlled, the channel mix they ran, and the pipeline or revenue that resulted — in that order, in the first line of each role.

The example below shows how to present channel ownership and budget scope without drowning in jargon, and how to phrase results when attribution is genuinely fuzzy (say what moved, over what period, against what baseline).

Professional summary example

Writing tips for this role

Lead with budget and channel scope

Marketing titles mean wildly different things across companies. "$1.8M budget, paid + lifecycle + content, team of 4" tells a hiring manager your actual altitude in one line and prevents you from being screened out as too junior or too senior.

Name the martech stack exactly

HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, GA4, Klaviyo — these are literal ATS filter terms. Write the platform name rather than a generic category like "marketing automation tools", and list only the ones you have actually operated.

Handle fuzzy attribution honestly

When you can't cleanly attribute revenue, anchor to the metric you truly owned and state the baseline: "organic sessions 18K → 71K in 14 months". Specific and honest beats an inflated revenue claim a VP will probe in the interview.

Frequently asked questions

Should I list every campaign I have run?

No. Pick the three or four with the clearest outcomes and give each a full bullet with numbers. A long list of campaign names without results reads as activity, not impact, and dilutes your strongest evidence.

How do I show results when the company was pre-product-market-fit?

Use leading indicators you legitimately moved — qualified demo requests, cost per qualified lead, content-attributed signups — and note the constraint briefly. Context makes modest numbers credible rather than weak.

Do certifications like Google Ads or HubSpot help?

Marginally for keyword matching, and more for career changers with less hands-on history. List them in a compact credentials line; never let them take space that a quantified achievement could use.
